Job Description
AVALON is seeking a talented and experienced Technical Sound Designer to join our dynamic development team. In this remote role, you will be responsible for creating, implementing, and optimizing audio elements that enhance the player experience across our game titles. You will collaborate closely with game designers, artists, and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of sound with gameplay mechanics. A strong background in Unreal Engine and Metasounds is essential, and experience with metasounds is a plus as we explore innovative audio solutions.
Key Responsibilites
Sound Creation & Implementation
- Design, create, and implement high-quality sound effects, ambient sounds, and music that align with game design and artistic visuals.
- Utilize Metasounds and Unreal Engine’s audio framework to develop dynamic and interactive audio system
- Integrate audio assets seamlessly into the game environment, ensuring synchronization with gameplay events and mechanics.
cs.Technical Optimization & Performan
- Optimize audio performance to ensure minimal latency and efficient resource usage across various platform
- Troubleshoot and resolve audio-related issues, ensuring stability and scalability of audio systems.
Collaboration
- Work closely with game designers to translate gameplay concepts into compelling audio experiences.
- Collaborate with other engineers and departments to integrate audio systems effectively with other game systems.
- Participate in cross-functional meetings to align audio design with overall project goals and timelines.
Testing & Quality Assurance
- Implement automated testing for audio features to ensure reliability and consistency
- Participate in playtesting sessions to gather feedback and iterate on audio elements based on player data and input.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering, Sound Design, Computer Science, or a related field or relative experience
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in game audio design, with a proven track record of shipping multiple game titles.
- Demonstrated experience with Unreal Engine’s audio tools and Metasounds.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Unreal Engine’s audio framework, including Metasounds
- Strong knowledge of audio design principles, sound synthesis, and audio process
- Experience with audio middleware tools (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) is a plus
- .Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce)
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working on AAA titles or large-scale multiplayer projects.
